ARE Structural Systems Study Session

Thinking about taking the Structures portion of the AREs? Over the holidays would be a great time to dust off the old textbooks and start studying!

YAFSTL will be holding an ARE Structural Systems study session in St. Louis, MO on January 30, 2010. Please check back with the YAFSTL All About Licensure blog for more information.

These are generally the topics we're discussing.

• Statics: Forces, Free Body Diagrams, Stress/Strain
• Beams, Columns, Design Properties
• Materials, Properties, and Design Procedures: Wood, Steel, Concrete
• Foundations
• Lateral Forces and Systems: Earthquake and Wind
• Graphic Vignette

We’re attempting to provide a broad overview of structures and, whenever possible, present time-saving tips and strategies. Only if there’s time will we go into depth, but if anyone in the audience wants more help on a topic, we encourage them to form study groups and seek the answers from knowledgeable peers.
