NCARB Mail: Score Report Update....

We've just received word of delays with Score Reporting, see message below:

Good afternoon,

Yesterday I received a quick update from Prometric that they were (again) experiencing a delay in processing some score reports from exams administered in July. This delay is unrelated to the transition and impacts only ARE 4.0 candidates. Today, I received a more detailed update to share with you.

According to Prometric, solutions for candidates who have taken Site Planning & Design (SPD), Building Design & Construction Systems (BDCS), Structural Systems (SS), Building Systems (BS) and Construction Documents & Services (CDS) since early July have been delayed in being processed through the Prometric system. They estimate that there are about 3,300 candidates who have taken these five divisions in July and August.

Prometric has corrected the processing issue and is currently working through the backlog of vignette solutions that this has created. The solutions have been divided into two sub-sets - with about 4,100 solutions in the first sub-set. A large percentage of this first sub-set includes solutions from July administrations. This set will be scored and processed in the next week. Upon completion of this first sub-set, Prometric will then work to complete the second sub-set and work to get back on schedule.

NCARB Launches New Website

About NCARB's New Web Site:

The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) launched a redesigned public web site in late July. We approached this web site redesign from a customer service perspective, surveying our Record holders and members for their input. We found some common themes in the information we gathered:

The web site is meant to be a resource for you, and we believe that it's now more intuitive, more user-friendly, and more visually interesting than ever before. However—it's what you think that counts. There is a "Feedback" button at the upper right on every page. Let us know what you think after you've used it a bit. Send us your suggestions. Let us know how we can serve you even better!

In the coming months we will be re-tooling the "My NCARB Record" section—to make it specific to every customer's unique user experience—as well as the "Members' Only" section for the architectural registration board members and staff of every jurisdiction. We plan on adding some bells and whistles to help you find the information you need quickly and easily each time you log in.

NCARB Announces ARE Security and Development Fee

The new rate of $210 per division will take effect on 1 October 2009. All exams scheduled on or after 1 October 2009 will be at the new rate. Prior to 1 October 2009, candidates can schedule future exam appointments through 31 December 2009 at the current rate of $170 per division.

IDP Six Month Rule Begins TOMORROW

The six month reporting rule goes into effect on July 1st, 2009 for all those who have NOT established an NCARB record.

Those that have established an NCARB record on or BEFORE June 30th, 2009 will have until July 1st 2010 to submit ALL of their experience. You have a one year grace period to adjust to the new reporting requirements. On July 1st, 2010, you will be required to report 6 months at a time.

If you establish an NCARB record on or AFTER July 1st, 2009, you will be required to submit 6 months at a time. If you’ve been working for 3 years, and you wait until July 1st of 2009 to start your record, you can only report 6 months.

Paperless Report Now Mandatory

ATTENTION INTERNS AND SUPERVISORS
The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) will not accept paper employment verifications (Form 123) from interns in the Intern Development Program postmarked on or after 1 July 2009. All interns will be required to use the online electronic Experience Verification Reporting (e-EVR) system to document their IDP experience after this date.

ARE 3.1 - Final Days

The last day to schedule an ARE 3.1 appointment is 27th June 2009.
The last day to take an ARE 3.1 division is 30th June 2009.

If you do not complete ARE 3.1, you will be transitioned to ARE 4.0
